Whisky Pete has taken his first step aimed at turning the United States military services into a group of Crusading Christian Soldiers. In line with the philosophy of his personal pastor, he is purging the services of women, minorities and anyone else who feels personal religious freedom guaranteed by the Constitution is preferred to government guidance. Pete prefers machismo and misogyny over merit. Diversity, equality and inclusion which have been hallmarks of the military services since the Truman Administration are out and blind obedience to questionable leadership is the standard. Religious orientated troops with unquestioned loyalty to a leader is what we have in the Iranian Republican Guard. Is that what we want for our future defenders?
